Discover the Northern Ireland conflict through a lens: Film Screening and Talk.
Come and face your inner Brexit when Doc Lounge Aarhus and the Center for Irish Studies focus on the art of filmmaking and Northern Ireland through the film and debate with film director Donal Foreman.

The film The Image you Missed is an exploration of film maker Donal Foreman's fragmented relationship with his father, the American photographer and documentary-maker Arthur MacCaig. During his career, Irish-American MacCaig produced a visual archive spanning thirty years of engagement with the especially Republican communities in Belfast. His son, Foreman, uses these images to find out what he has in common with his father; both make films, both emigrated to another country. The main difference however lies in their approach to images and what they say. A film about the father-son relation and a biography told in second-person narration, The Image you Missed reflects on what is left in and what is left out from MacCaig’s films.

Donal Foreman presents the film and talks after the film screening with PhD student at Centre for Irish Studies Annemarie Majlund Jensen and the audience.
